Carnegie has four galleries plus a vibrant community of creative people who paint, draw, sculpt, build ceramics, create jewelry and decorative items and more.

Join us under the "big tent" at Carnegie's 2008 Arts and Heritage Festival on September 4, 5 and 6, 2008! We have a 30' x 60' tent to accommodate both merchant artists and demonstrators plus crafters. Artists who have anything from one small table display to several tables of merchandise can find a spot, and within and around the tent we'd like to have caricature and quick-portrait artists, plein air painters and artists who will demonstrate their skills while joining us as a vendor.

Ceramic artist Sandra Moore, member of the Associated Artist of Pgh. and The Craftsmen’s Guild, will be demonstrating throwing, Raku firing and horsehair firing on September 6, only. The fast firing process of Raku yields lustrous and dynamic ware. Horsehair Raku is the process by which horsehair is laid on the piece when it is 950 degrees F. "My children ride at Robert Mayer Riding Academy and everyone donates horse hair to me for this process. I also make pieces for their horses from their own hair."
